But some bunnies, unfortunately, catch a string of bad luck and are faced with a bunny's worst possible fate, homelessness.
Enter: Bunnies by Emma & Ellie. When somebody contacts us to surrender a bunny, we hop to the rescue and do whatever we can to ensure that bunny doesn't spend the next holiday alone, regardless of whether or not the bunny was bred by us.
Every bunny deserves a happy ending. Here's where we get to share those heartwarming comeback stories with ya'll. Cue the tissues!
Henry, an adult Holland lop, was living in an apartment with his owner who was moving and could not take Henry along. Henry's owner contacted us and Henry spent many weeks enjoying the outdoors, learning how to go up and down the ramps, and meeting new friends.
After enjoying Henry's company for a few weeks and seeing just how much of a country boy Henry truly is, we decided Henry belongs with us "furever," and so here he'll stay! We have hopes that Henry might even be a daddy some day; time will tell!

Beatrix, a senior lionhead, was residing in an assisted living facility for many years with her owner. After her owner passed away, the employees could no longer care for her and reached out to us.
Beatrix was the sweetest and most cuddly of bunnies and spent a long three-day weekend with us kickin' it in the sticks like a country gal!
As soon as Beatrix arrived, we posted her story and photo on our website, and in less than 48 hours, Beatrix was adopted!

Velvet, a two and a half year old Velveteen Lop doe, was surrendered to us by a family who was looking to rehome her. When Velvet arrived, her nails were shockingly long (see photo on Instagram) and so we treated Velvet to an emergency mani/pedi stat!
Velvet will remain here with us and is looking forward to a beautiful summer outside and a lifetime of routine mani/pedis. Velvet is enjoying our brand new "bunny shed" complete with A/C for the summer months! She's going to be one breezy lil lady this summer!
As you can see, Velvet is working hard to master the treat cups game! Velvet's new initiative? No Treat Left Behind!

Oreo was surrendered on October 7, 2023 and went to his new “furever” home on October 13, just 6 short days later! (Yup, that’s how good we are!) Oreo was a 1 year old, unneutered male that was surrendered due to a family move. He was so gentle and sweet, and was dropped off with his beloved blankie and habitat. (Blankie shown behind him in photo!) We made sure Oreo’s habitat and beloved blankie went to his new home with him on October 13. We wish Oreo the best, and we know he has gone on to some fun and exciting days ahead!
Winter, an unspayed 7 year old Lionhead/Holland Lop mix was surrendered on September 29. 2023 due to a family move. Winter enjoyed watching the leaves start to fall while she was here with us, and on October 14, Winter was adopted (just two weeks later)! She’s going home to a new big brother and we couldn’t be happier for her!
